Former HEAD Electronics B.V.
For Mach Technology Katwijk, the story begins when former director A. van Leeuwen founded HEAD Electronics B.V. in Katwijk in 1987. HEAD stands for “Holland Electronics Advanced Development.” The company started as an electronics shop at the Bosplein in Katwijk, selling model-building supplies and electronic components to consumers. Soon after, a graduated electronics engineer joined the company, gradually shifting its focus toward the industrial market.
This led, in 1986, to a move into a factory building on Van der Vegtstraat, doubling the floor space and establishing electronics production. Due to growing demand for assembled electronic products, another relocation followed in 1988 — to Rijnlandkade — tripling the available production area.
During a favourable economic period and with a growing customer base and order portfolio, the company moved again in 1997 to a much larger facility at Ambachtsweg 17 in the industrial area ’t Heen in Katwijk. Growth accelerated even further, with major investments in people, equipment, production machines, and processes. In 2012, Willem Kok acquired HEAD Electronics and merged it with CDS Electronics in Rotterdam. In 2016, MUCO Technologies and Azteco Electronics were added, forming the Mach Technology Group. Since 2024, all companies have operated under the unified name Mach Technology.
